How the airport pickup works
Enter your flight number when you book and we follow the aircraft — early or late, the pickup moves with it at no extra cost. Your driver meets you inside the terminal once you have your luggage, and you pay in the car by card or cash. Then it is a direct run to Vasastan.
The route from Arlanda to Vasastan
Straight down the E4 and off at Norrtull — Vasastan starts immediately after, which makes it one of the shortest central runs.
The journey covers roughly 39 km and takes about 40 minutes in normal traffic. We check live traffic before setting off, so the arrival time you are given already accounts for the road at that hour.
Getting to Vasastan without a car
Arlanda Express to Central then the green line back north to Odenplan or Sankt Eriksplan. You travel past Vasastan to reach the station, then travel back — which is the whole reason the direct car is quicker here.
About Vasastan
Vasastan is central Stockholm without the crowds: Odenplan as its hub, the city library at Sveavägen, and a long run of neighbourhood restaurants along Rörstrandsgatan and Upplandsgatan. It is the first district you reach coming in from Arlanda, which usually makes it a few minutes quicker than the Old Town.
At 39 km Vasastan is the closest central district to Arlanda, because Norrtull puts you at its northern edge before the city traffic starts. It is regularly a few minutes quicker than Gamla Stan or Södermalm even at rush hour.
